Clean metadata from your images
Up to 50 files, 50 MB each, and 250 MB per batch. Run as many batches as you need.
Or drag, drop, or paste images here. Files never leave your browser.

Everything happens on this device. This page does not upload, store, or expose the private values inside your images.
01 · How it works
Clean and verify each image in three steps
- 1
Choose your images
Select, drop, or paste up to 50 supported images. Their signatures are checked before processing.
- 2
Review what was found
See metadata categories such as location, camera details, dates, author data, XMP, or IPTC—never the underlying private values.
- 3
Clean, verify, and download
Images are handled sequentially. Download each verified result separately or collect them in a ZIP.
02 · Common uses
Share images without sharing their hidden history
Photos shared online
Remove location, device, author, and capture-time details before posting or messaging a photo.
Website images
Publish clean assets without carrying editing history, comments, or unused embedded thumbnails.
Client deliverables
Strip supported identity and workflow metadata while keeping the original encoded image intact.
Batch cleanup
Inspect several images, clean them sequentially, then download individual files or one ZIP.
Private by design
The browser reads and rewrites the files locally. Filenames, pixels, and metadata values are not sent to OptimizeYourImage. Image files, filenames, and metadata values are never sent to analytics.
Lossless and verified
The tool removes metadata at the container level, not by redrawing your picture. It verifies that the encoded image payload is unchanged and that supported removable metadata is gone before enabling the download.
Supported image formats
Use JPEG, PNG or APNG, WebP, GIF, still AVIF, HEIC or HEIF, and classic TIFF. Animated images and multi-page TIFF files keep their frames or pages where supported. BigTIFF, RAW/DNG, pyramidal TIFF, timed AVIF/HEIF, corrupt files, and specialized variants that cannot be verified safely are rejected clearly.
03 · Frequently asked questions
Image metadata removal, explained
Is this image metadata remover really free?
Yes. There is no signup, watermark, payment, daily counter, or cooldown. Browser safety limits apply to each batch, and you can start another batch immediately.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Inspection, removal, verification, and ZIP creation happen locally in your browser. Your image files are not sent to our servers.
What metadata does the tool remove?
It removes supported EXIF and GPS details, XMP, IPTC, author and description fields, timestamps, software details, comments, embedded thumbnails, and Content Credentials. The results show categories only, never the private values found in your file.
Will removing metadata reduce image quality?
No. The tool edits image-container metadata without decoding or re-encoding the picture. Encoded pixels, animation, pages, transparency, and the original format stay intact. Display orientation and ICC color profiles are retained when needed.
Which image formats are supported?
The tested formats are JPEG, PNG and APNG, WebP, GIF, still AVIF, HEIC and HEIF, and classic TIFF. Specialized variants that cannot be cleaned and verified safely are rejected instead of being silently changed.
Does this remove AI image metadata?
It removes supported metadata containers that AI tools may add or read, including XMP, PNG text, software fields, and C2PA Content Credentials. It does not alter pixel-level invisible watermarks, image fingerprints, or signals inferred by a classifier from the visible picture.
Can any tool guarantee that every hidden signal is removed?
No. This tool verifies supported metadata containers, but it does not remove invisible pixel-level watermarks, alter the image fingerprint, or prevent an AI classifier from analyzing the visible picture.
